A BIBLICAL QUIZ, WITH THE ANSWERS

I pray that you are willing to test your understanding of the Word of God, without any one looking over your shoulder, and no grade attached to your work. Take the quiz and test your understanding of the Word of God because your eternal life hinges on how well you understand the Word and Will of God and how you apply them to your life. To prove the point that I have just made, let?s review the three verses from Psalms 119 that we listed as our scriptural text for this lesson. First, in Psalms 119:89 we find that God tells us there, that His word is eternal, it existed as part of His character before the foundation of the world, and it will never change, never be diminished, it is settled in heaven. Second, in verse 11 of Psalms 119, we are told that the Christian?s best defense against sin is to internalize, memorize the word of God. Then finally, in verse 105 of Psalms 119, we find that God uses the Bible and His inspired word, to illuminate the Christian?s walk through this world that is filled with sin and evil. For the true Christian, God has provided a detailed instruction booklet, a service manual, if you will, for the benefit of His Children, as they live in this world. Jesus Christ, the Savior, God in the flesh made it clear that we were never to attempt to add to or to subtract from the Word (Matthew 5:17-19). Jesus came to the earth, under the law, and he submitted himself to the teaching of the Old Testament until His death on the cross. Note*: When Jesus was on the earth there was not a New Testament, so He spoke with authority of the Old Testament. The New Testament is the New Covenant, which was inaugurated in the blood of Christ. We are commanded in the Revelation that we are not to add to or take away from the Word of God (Revelation 22:18-19).

Now, for the Quiz: The questions are numbered and if you will, please take time to write down your answers.

1. Who created God? The answer is nobody; because God is self -existent. God has always been and will always be. (John 5:26; Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalms 90:2; Revelation 4:8-10).

2. Who created all that we know? The answer is that God did, and if you doubt that let me advise you that? I didn?t create it, and I seriously doubt that you did. God says that He created it all. Further, God created it all by speaking it into being. (Genesis 1:1; Proverbs 26:10; Romans 1:20, 25; Mark 13:19 ;)

3. How many Gods do we have? The answer is One God, who manifests Himself to us in three distinct personalities. The Father in heaven, the Son, Jesus Christ, who left heaven for a time and took on Himself the form and flesh of mankind, so that He could better reveal God to man, and so that He could live a sinless life and submit Himself (to the cross that He did not deserve, but that we did), to quench the wrath of God the Father against our sin, (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Ephesians 2:3; Matthew 28:19-20; John 3:36; Ephesians 2:10; Colossians 3:1-10).

4. Who was it that volunteered to take your sin upon Himself and go to the Cross, to suffer and shed His blood and die and be buried, to rise again on the third day; and be seated at the right hand of God? The answer was that it was God Himself, in the form of Jesus Christ. John 1:1; John 10:30; John 14:6-11

5. Who wrote the Bible? The answer is that men wrote it down, but only as they were inspired by God. That means that when we read our Bibles, we are reading the Word of God, just as surely as if God were speaking to us. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17; Exodus 17:14; Exodus 34:27; Isaiah 30:8-14; Jeremiah 30:1-3; Nehemiah 8:14; Revelation 1:19

6. What has the Bible to do with our salvation? The answer is?The Bible contains God?s route to salvation, Romans 10:9-10, 17; and it tells us how to become mature in our Christianity, 1st Peter 2:2

7. Whether we eat, wear, sleep on or abide with?..we always desire that which is perfect, right, pure, enduring, desirable and good; but where can we find something with all of those perfections? The answer is in the Bible, the law of God. Psalms 19:7-11

8. What is the best recommendation that we can give to our youth of today? What could we recommend to them that would make their lives richer and more profitable? The answer is that we should teach them and demonstrate to them the profitability of reading and living by the Word of God the Bible. Psalms 119:9-16, 33-40

9. What is the indispensable element in understanding the Bible correctly? The answer is?.. The new birth, regeneration, salvation and the indwelling Holy Spirit. Ephesians 2:10, 2nd Corinthians 5:17; Romans 8:5-8; 1st John 5:20

10. What is it that saves anyone, and where can it be found? The answer is that anyone who is ever saved is saved by Grace, through faith in the Son of God Jesus Christ and His person and work on Calvary, and Grace and faith are found only in the Word of God, the Bible. Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9

11. What always happens, whenever the truth of the Word of God, the Bible, is preached? The answer is that it always accomplishes whatever the Lord purposes. Isaiah 55:11

12. There are two graces, given by God to teach all of us about God, what are they? The answer is the creation, and His Son Jesus Christ, who left heaven and came to the earth, to demonstrate God to us. Romans 1:18-21; John 1:1-18; John 17:17

13. Prophecy is for most people drudgery and hard to understand, so do we even need to study prophecy? The answer is we definitely do need to study prophecy because it makes the Wonder and Power of our God evident. It also promises us a blessing for reading it. Revelation 1:3

14. Why are there so many prayers in our day that go unanswered? The answer is that many do not have any idea about how to pray and they pray for the wrong things. Matthew 6:5-8; James 3-4

15. Can we really accept the Bible as inerrant, since it was written down by men and has been translated into so many versions? Indeed we can, since God is still alive and can never die, and He not only inspirited it but He protects it by His Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 33:27; 2nd Timothy 3:16; John 14:15-18

16. When people disagree about what the Bible clearly says, what is the problem? The answer is that there are many people attempting to interpret God?s Word who are not saved, so they can never be sure if they understand the Word of God. Any time there is disagreement, it means that someone is wrong, because God gave us His Word the Bible to lead and guide us to righteousness. Romans 8: 3-11

17. Are God?s children ever referred to in the Bible as ?sinners?? The answer is?Absolutely not, they are called ?saints? and they operate as saints in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Romans 1:7; Ephesians 1:13-14; 2nd Corinthians 1:1; Ephesians 1:1; Colossians 1:2

18. Can a born again Christians ever commit sin? The answer is yes, but when they do they are in trouble with God until they repent and turn again to God. Sin by a Christian does not make the true Christian a reprobate, but it hinders his communion with God. John 9:31; John 14:15; John 14:21-24; John 8:30-32; John 15:9-11; John 17:17

19. Are born again Christians responsible to keep the law of God. The answer is yes! We are not under the penalty of death for breaking any of God?s laws; however we have a duty to God to keep his commandments in love for Him, and our fellow man. Matthew 22:36-40

20. What does the word ?predestination? really mean? The answer is that predestination means that at some point in time before there was anything other than God, God chose the plan that He had had from eternity past, for his creation. God is Sovereign, He is Omniscience and He is eternal among other great attributes, so that means that He has always had all knowledge of everything, and He has always known everything. That means that God chose, for reasons that only He can know, those who would be saved and He did that before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:1-12

21. Does God have a plan for my life and if He does how can I know it? The answer is, yes, God does have a plan for your life, and you can know it by casting yourself on His mercy and studying and applying His Word the Bible to your life. Ephesians 2:10; 2nd Corinthians 5:17; Psalms 119:1-16

22. What is meant by the term repentance, what does it mean to repent and is it necessary to be saved. The answer is repentance means to understand that any sin in our life, has violated our Creator?.our understanding that what we have done is wrong and then to turn away from sin to do what is right in the eyes of God. We do not repent because we have been caught in our sin and fear God?s punishment; we repent because we know that we have wronged our Sovereign God. Repentance because of godly sorrow??a broken and contrite heart because we have seen ourselves as we really are before our Holy God, is definitely required to be saved. Matthew 4:17; Acts 2:36-39; Acts 3:19-21; Acts 17:30-31; 2nd Corinthians 7:10-11

23. What does true salvation do in the person who is truly saved? The answer is that true salvation only comes by God?s Grace and His interdiction of our lives in time. Salvation is marked by a death in the old creature and a new birth, a birth from God in the one saved. It always involves a dramatic change in the life of the person saved, because we are indwelled by the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation and we are led and taught and guided by the Holy Spirit of God. Ephesians 2:1-10; Romans 6:1-14; 2nd Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 1:13

24. Is it possible for a person to ever lose their salvation? The answer is no. There will be many people who join church groups and profess Christ, but they were never saved; and those people can and usually do appear to apostatize, but they were never really born again and saved. To believe that a person who had once been covered by the blood of Jesus Christ could have his salvation taken away from him is to mock God. Once saved always saved?.but the key word there is truly saved by God. Matthew 7:17-23; Matthew 1:21

25. Is it really possible for anyone to live the way that God says that His children are to live? The answer is yes! We, if we are truly saved and born again, with new hearts and transformed minds are enabled by the Holy Spirit which takes up residence in us. That power is the power of God and that means that nothing, including sin, can overcome Him. We could live above sin if we were truly focused and submitted to Christ, but we choose not to be. John 14:15-16, 21-24; Romans 8:1-17; Galatians 2:20

I hope you actually read and answered those questions for yourself; because if you did you now know that God?s dining table is where His children are all fed. Always remember, when you read your Bible, that you should understand that it is God speaking to you.

When I speak of the Bible, I am not speaking of selected verses to the exclusion of others; I am speaking of every word of every verse of every chapter of every book or letter contained in the Bible. All of the Bible was inspired by God and is protected by God to teach those that God has saved, how to walk in this world. A.W. Tozer has said that ?Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian?. I don?t know the reason but over the past decades we have chosen to set aside the Bible and just ?wing? our own way. We are not people of the Book (Bible) for the most part and we have bought into error and outright heresy as a result.

We seem to believe that if enough of us get together and agree to believe any lie that God will have to accept what our group is willing to give Him. That means that we have lost the concept of who God is. We want a God that will change and tolerate and go along with whatever the majority wants. We have forgotten that in every matter?.God is the majority. Right is right when nobody is right and wrong is wrong when everybody is wrong. We cannot change God and we should not want to. Let?s decide to love God enough to submit and commit ourselves to His Lordship. Let?s begin to really study our Bibles and seek His face and ask Him to forgive our sins and heal our nation.
